Beverly Hills Supper Club.
The Fire. The Mob.
The Beverly Hills Supper Club fire claimed the lives of 165 people. The lessons learned radically changed fire safety protocols. Clearly multiple factors contributed to the death toll like inadequate exits, overcrowding, and no fire sprinkler system. But was the actual cause of the fire related to fire safety issues? Was it faulty wiring as originally thought? Or something more sinister – like arson?
In his book Forbidden Fruit, Peter Bronson does a deep dive into what happened that night along with the history of the club including its connection to the Cleveland mafia. His research led him to more fully appreciate the extent of mob activity in Newport, KY and the surrounding area and convinced him of its tie to the Supper Club fire. Come hear Peter as he builds the case for a mob-arson connection.
